Summer is in full swing... and so are the events! For the August 15th weekend (a holiday in France), the vineyards of the Rhône Valley welcome you with open arms. On the program: musical evenings, gourmet markets, tastings under the stars... In short, everything you need to treat yourself, unwind and take the time to appreciate the simple things in life.
We've selected three of our favorite events for a weekend of festivities and gourmet delights.

La Nuit du Vin in Rasteau: a sensory journey through a star-studded village
It's 6pm on Thursday, August 14th: the streets of a hilltop village are bathed in soft sunlight, music echoes between the stone walls of the houses, and you're enjoying a sweet, garnet-red wine... Welcome to Rasteau, for its famous “Nuit du Vin”.
Here, you can stroll along a lively itinerary through the village. At every corner, a stand of local producers awaits you: passionate winemakers, creative craftsmen, gourmet food-trucks... The atmosphere is one of celebration and encounter, in a guinguette spirit that suits Rasteau like a glove. Here you can taste the treasures of the appellation: dry red Crus, but above all the Vins Doux Naturels for which Rasteau is famous.
Our favorite part: enjoying a meal on the Place de l'Église, with a breathtaking view of the vineyards below.

Fête des Vins et de l'Olive de Nyons in Mirabel-aux-Baronnies: the perfect match
On Friday August 15th, we set course for Mirabel-aux-Baronnies, located between Nyons and Vaison-la-Romaine. This small village in the Drôme region celebrates two pillars of the local terroir: wine and the famous Nyons PDO black olive.
Early in the morning, the flea market in the alleyways sets the tone. We stroll, we bargain, and very quickly, the smells of olive oil, tapenade and grilled meats whet our appetites. On site, producers and winegrowers from the Nyonsais region are waiting to let us taste their olive-based products and wines, all with a healthy dose of good humor. Children's entertainment and live music fill the streets, so you can fully immerse yourself in the village's southern atmosphere.
Good to know: on-site catering is available to satisfy every hunger... even those that persist after a good tasting of olives and their oils!

Jazz evening at the Domaine de l'Aqueduc: sunset and blue notes
On Saturday August 16th, between 8pm and midnight, we end this extended weekend in style with an evening that combines jazz, wine and summery mildness. Head to Domaine de l'Aqueduc, in Saint-Maximin, Gard, for a musical interlude.
The idea is simple: sit down in the courtyard of the estate, with a glass of AOC Duché d'Uzès wine to enjoy, and let the jazz music do the rest. All around, the vines gently reflect the golden light of the setting sun. It's beautiful and tranquil: a timeless moment that you know how to appreciate when it comes.
Of course, you'll also find plenty of food to enjoy at the on-site food-truck. With friends, as a couple or even on your own, you've got everything you need for a successful evening!
The little extra: two stages for an unpretentious but stylish jazz program
