Ardèche: visit a wine estate

Ardèche, land of breathtaking scenery

Whether you’re in the north of the department or the south, Ardèche is where you see the two distinct faces of the Rhône Valley Vineyards in all their glory. In the south, the Côtes du Vivarais and Côtes du Rhône appellations unfurl around the famous Ardèche gorges, while in the north, the Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Saint-Péray appellations are well worth seeking out.
The area is known for its stunning landscapes, complete with spectacular gorges, picturesque villages and a rich cultural heritage.  As you explore, remember to take advantage of the outdoor sports opportunities, which include canoeing, kayaking, hiking and climbing. And take time out to admire the magnificent historic architecture, such as Château Crussol in Saint-Péray, an imposing fortress set on a hillside with panoramic views over the region.
There are also plenty of exciting wine-related activities to try.
