Kick-off for the 2025 tasting workshops at the Avignon Wine School!

Whether you're a neophyte or a more experienced wine enthusiast, the tasting workshops at the Wine School in Avignon are a must for a new way of discovering Rhône Valley wines. Once again this year, there's something for everyone. Without further ado, we unveil the program for this January!
The year is off to a flying start at the Wine School, with three mouth-watering workshops. We'll take you on an exceptional program to extend the magic of the festive season in the heart of the City of the Popes, in the emblematic Carré du Palais. A unique atmosphere awaits you as you learn more about the wines of the Rhône AOC. Let’s get to the program!

Ateliers dégustations 2025

• An introduction to wine tasting

Whether it's a refresher course for some, or a discovery for others, there's nothing like an introductory wine tasting course to get you started! For two hours, your senses are awakened to learn how to recognize the specific characteristics of Rhône Valley wines. Here, the initiation is complete, involving visual, olfactory and taste analysis. You'll also learn about the winemaking techniques used to produce the wines you taste, so you can savor their subtleties.
Practical info: see you on Saturday January 11th from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Carré du Palais, 1 place du Palais, Avignon. Tickets can be booked here.

• How about some cheese?

What better way to treat your taste buds than with a wine and cheese pairing... But that's without counting on this second workshop of January! Here, we're taking things a step further, featuring the finest cheeses from our regions, accompanied by carefully selected Côtes du Rhône Crus. Learn to recognize the notes and aromas of the white and red wines that will enhance your legendary cheese platter. We're already salivating!
Practical info: see you on Saturday January 18 from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Carré du Palais, 1 place du Palais, Avignon. Tickets can be booked here.

Atelier fromages crus Côtes du Rhône

• An afterwork smelling of truffles

To end this month of January in style, the last workshop celebrates a magical duo: truffles and wine! We're going all out by introducing you to a variety of truffle dishes while tasting Côtes du Rhône wines. Since truffles like to flirt with white and red wines, we're concocting some delicious and surprising pairings for a real festival of flavors in your mouth.
Practical info: this afterwork on Tuesday, January 21 at the Maison des Vins d'Avignon was a victim of its own success... Don't panic, we'll see you in February with a new, equally tempting program!
