Learn to taste wine

The Wine School

The Rhône Valley Vineyards Wine School (L'Ecole des Vins), situated in the heart of Avignon, hosts a series of tasting workshops every week with something for everyone to enjoy. Learn how to taste wine and broaden your understanding of the appellations making up the Rhône Valley Vineyards. Workshops are available in two locations, each with its own special atmosphere. The Maison des Vins holds relaxed, early-evening wine-tasting sessions on a Tuesday, while the Carré du Palais hosts more in-depth learning events.  Whichever you choose, you can be sure of a warm welcome, whether this is your first ever wine-tasting, you’re looking for a deeper appreciation of terroirs, appellations and grape varieties, or you’d like to learn to pair wine with food.

Flavours and terroirs

From glass to plate

Local wines pair beautifully with local foods. That means Mediterranean and Provençal flavours in the south, and the taste of Ardèche and Lyon in the north. Countless culinary combinations to make your taste-buds sparkle!
