Gard: visit a wine estate

Gard, land of nature and romance

A stay in the Gard, from the Pont du Gard to the amphitheatre in Nîmes, is like taking a step back into history.  Nîmes, the area’s capital, was founded in Roman times and has countless reminders of its Roman past, including the amphitheatre, the Maison Carrée Roman Temple (now a UNESCO World heritage site) and the Tour Magne. Three major appellations share this fertile land on the right bank of the river: Costières de Nîmes, Duché d'Uzès and Côtes du Rhône.
