A rich diversity of terroirs and grape varieties

Surrounding the Dentelles de Montmirail, the vineyards are planted on gentle slopes, steep hillsides, and arid terraces alike. They take root in diverse soils, growing alongside forests of holm oak and Aleppo pine, olive groves, and rosemary-filled garrigue scrubland.
These unique, well-defined terroirs allow a wide range of grape varieties to flourish, enabling winemakers to craft blends for no fewer than five different appellations—including the renowned AOCs of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes-de-Venise.

The Dentelles de Montmirail natural site is home to a myriad of perfectly preserved churches and chapels, as well as charming hilltop or medieval villages—some of which have lent their names to Côtes du Rhône Villages AOCs, such as Sablet and Séguret.
This rich heritage stems from a history dating back to antiquity. Many of these buildings are open to visitors or serve as venues for cultural and social events.
